Leadership Council Meeting
October 30, 2011
Members Present:  Betty Boyer, Eric Folkerth, Mindy Dague, Mary Clair Lowrance, Stephanie Rhoades, Beth Schuessler, Dick Weaver, Elaine Wiant, Marlene Haskell, Terry Lowery, Tom Timmins and Dotti Timmins
Guests:  Carole Carsey, Charles Delphenis, Wayne Schindler, Charles Axe, and Connie Marshall.

Approval September 27, 2011 Leadership Council Meeting Minutes – Minutes approved as written. 
Leadership Chairperson’s Remarks – Betty Boyer reminded everyone that the next Leadership Council meeting is on Tuesday, November 15.  This is a change from our usual schedule to accommodate the Thanksgiving holiday. She thanked everyone for taking time from their Sunday evening to attend.   She asked, if you are not returning in 2012 as chairperson of your committee, to please prepare a checklist of activities for the new chairperson so they are not beginning with a blank sheet of paper.  The checklist should include activities that occur on a monthly basis, quarterly basis and special activities that happen during the course of the year.  She would appreciate it if you could have your checklist to her in December.

Leadership Council Reports

Covenant Fund – No Report

Stewardship Report – Betty reported that there is no written Stewardship Report for this meeting however on behalf of the Stewardship Committee; Betty Boyer wanted to thank Elaine Wiant and Dick Weaver who have been our recent Stewardship Speakers.  Laurie Reichenbach will be our speaker next Sunday.  Also she thanked our script writers, Rebecca Bergstresser, Karen Matson and Tom Timmins.  Special thanks were given to Tom Karges and Donna Wiles for the Vision Wall display during the Stewardship Campaign.  Betty would appreciate any feedback you hear about the campaign and your opinion of the campaign.

Program Council – Report Attached
History Project – Tom Timmins reported that on-line ordering is made available through Constant Contact.  We have sold 50 sets and 8 books so far. $996 income collected so far. 62 comp copies to staff and voice recordings and people like the DS Bishop, TMF, Perkins, people who have moved away. Tom is interested in hearing feedback. A lot of work went into it and a lot of information went into it.   
Staff Reports
Co-op School – No Report
Office Administrator – Mindy Dague reported that the 3rd quarterly contribution statements were mailed and the 4th quarter statements will be mailed in January. The first stewardship letter was mailed a few weeks ago and the next stewardship mailing with pledge cards will be next week.
Minister to Children – Beth Schuessler reported that the carnival went very well last weekend. It was suggested that the left over pumpkins be sold in the Atrium. They almost sold out. Beth reported that Sunday school is going very well. The music program that is being integrated with the classes is going well.
Music and the Arts – Stephanie Rhoades reported that the Hymn Festival went well. The offering that was taken took to sustain the Jane Marshall Concert Series collected over $1030 in donations. A reminder was given that the Ecumenical service is coming up.
Minister of Congregational Life – Report attached
Senior Pastor – Eric Folkerth reminded everyone that we are in the middle of all of the programs we talked about last month. The Advent Family Festival is coming up. All of the ministries of the church are coming together to make it happen.  Eric distributed the Policy Statement on Misconduct of a Sexual Nature. The policy was reviewed by SPRC and updated.  Obligations are stated in case of an allegation. The reporting structure is specified.  The policy will be voted on at the next Leadership Council meeting.  The Leader guidelines and safety standards for children and Youth Events are available in print. Mary Clair and Beth have been working on this.
